For me, drawing has always been a way to express things I can’t quite realize in real life. Take a matching set-up, for example—I don’t think I could pull it off with my body type. Or a mini skirt with high socks—the same. So instead, I drew the kind of cute girl I imagine, even if I could never be her myself. I also feel like people with similar vibes naturally gravitate toward one another. It makes me wonder—do we all give off some sort of invisible scent? And then, bees show up. But in this case, they seem to have mistaken the sweet smell of churros for something else, and came buzzing over.

Since it was right before Christmas, the scene carries that seasonal feeling. The man with his dog is just adorable. I remembered a scene from a foreign TV show where a man and his dog were relaxing together at his favorite local spot. I wondered—do dogs really sit this politely in real life? Looking at the people in the photo, I noticed how their knees were alternatingly facing one another. It struck me as amusing. There’s even a saying about “sitting knee to knee.” It reminded me of a time when I deeply missed those moments of sitting close and talking with friends. Now, it feels so natural again—so much so that the once-awkward atmosphere, when everyone felt distant, seems almost unreal.
